How I Celebrated the National Book Week During College

By: Jolo Van Clyde S. Abatayo, RL

First of all, I would like to say that without our libraries, it will be very hard or impossible for us to open the door to literacy and we can't unravel every mystery in life.

Happiest National Book Week, Philippines!

You know what... I can still remember my NBW days during college. I was so enthusiastic in joining contests like the essay writing. In 2014, I got the 1st place in the campus-wide Essay writing contest and second place in the province-wide. In 2015, I got the second place in campus-wide Essay writing contest because of this brainiac named Airon Genelle Bisaya LlabanMoreover, I joined a spot painting contest but here's the fact: Honestly, I suck in drawing or painting coz I am not artsy-craftsy! LOL. 😂👌

I also won second place in the province-wide spelling bee contest last 2015. Those memories are really precious to me. I would like to mention Shy Meah Castro, the mistress of storytelling and Arvel GL Campollo, the eloquent speaker. 👍

Let me end this speech by sharing this statement from Harold Howe.. "what a school thinks about its library is the measure of what it feels about education"

Another satisfied and grateful special researchers from Caraga State University!

Thank you so much for visiting the Learning Resource Center of Saint Michael College of Caraga. Though we don't have enough physical resources which support "specific search" and "research" queries about indigenous people's cultures and traditional healing practices, I still thank God for giving me skills and strategies on searching for relevant online resources. Their satisfaction and genuine smiles are enough to brush my stress away!
Librarjuan Rule 101: Don't let your library clients leave without something. Always provide something that they need for their research and educational endeavors. It is always a sin for librarians to leave their library users hanging and let them go with nothing.
